Ryan Lochte had some vocal supporters on Dancing with the Stars Monday evening.
As the Olympic swimmer and his pro partner Cheryl Burke listened to the judges’ commentary of their week 4 Viennese Waltz, two audience members expressed their support of the University of Florida alum.
While judge Bruno Tonioli gave constructive criticism to the contestant, two female attendees, who appeared to be in their 50s, yelled at the UF Gator during the live show.
“Light and darkness, I know about that. Yin and yang. When you have these elements perfectly balanced, you create perfect harmony. Dancing is the same. It’s providing all this emotion and translating them with your body,” Tonioli began before the two unseen women yelled “Go gators!” and waved and laughed at the Olympian.
Tonioli then told both Lochte and Burke, “just forget about them” before he continued with his thoughts.
Shortly after the female audience members – who sat on the third level balcony – interrupted the live show, security addressed the incident with the duo, but could be seen walking away and laughing after speaking with them.
Following the show, pro dancer Lindsay Arnold told reporters of the vocal supporters, “That makes me happy. He had such a strong night tonight and I’m really proud of him for pushing through everything that has faced him the past couple of weeks because he really came out on top tonight and proved that he deserves to be here.”
On the season 23 premiere of the reality dancing competition series, two male protesters stormed the stage while Lochte and Burke listened to the judges’ commentary. Both men, who donned anti-Lochte T-shirts, were escorted off the ballroom floor and arrested. On Sept. 27, PEOPLE confirmed that both men were each charged with two counts of misdemeanor and could each face up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
