Well, did you see that coming? In a shock double eviction, Emma-Jane Woodham, 19, and Terry Walsh, 28, have been dumped from the Love Island villa. We caught up with the couple ahead of the final, to see if their love was for real, and just how scared they are of Malin…
Did you feel like you were going to go?
Terry: Yeah I prepared myself for it, just because of what Malin said to me. And the last few days I’ve been saying that I can’t go on anymore and emotionally and physically I’m just drained. It was bringing a bad side of me out, and I was just ready to go. It was like a sigh of relief when Caroline said we were in the bottom.
What are you two planning to do now?
Terry: Me and Em are going to continue seeing each other on the outside. We’re glad to get out of the bubble now, away from the dramas and the stress that can come with the villa. We haven’t had a good chance to be alone and get to know each other away from it all.
You both clashed with Sophie, what do you think of her?
Terry: I’m just not sure with Sophie to be honest with you. I’m not even sure she knew what she wanted in there. She confused me with a few things she did, and a few things she said about me in the villa. I’ve got my own reasons for why me and Sophie don’t really see eye-to-eye. I just don’t really think I know her.
Terry, do you feel any guilt about how you treated Malin?
Terry: Yeah, of course I’ve got guilt about the Malin situation. I never wanted her getting hurt. But, I couldn’t pick up the phone and talk to her and discuss things as adults. Unfortunately, the only way for her to see it was on-screen. I didn’t really get a proper chance to apologise when she turned up on that date because I was so furious about the way I thought I was put in a trap. I don’t think it was fair.
Do you have any plans to make amends?
Terry: Yeah, definitely, I never wanted to leave it like we have. I’d definitely like to think that when I get the chance I can speak to her and she can understand my point of view. It wasn’t like I didn’t care. I massively cared about it.
Emma, are you worried about seeing Malin?
Emma: No, not at all. What went on between Malin and Terry is none of my business, and I’ll stay out of the equation. Terry is more than capable of dealing with that himself, and I’m sure Malin would prefer me to stay out of it. We’re obviously not going to be friends, but we’ll be civil.
You both raised some eyebrows in bedroom, did you forget the cameras were there?
Emma: No, I didn’t. When I said I wouldn’t be willing to have sex in the villa I didn’t realise I’d end up feeling the way I do about Terry. I don’t have any regrets. Obviously me and Terry are both adults, it was a spur of the moment thing. Maybe we got a little caught up, but it’s not something I wish I could take back. I stand by what I did.
Do you think Olivia is right to trust Alex?
Terry: Yeah, I do think Olivia is right to trust Alex. It’s been a hard situation with Alex. Obviously, he’s had his guard up, and everything is pushed on you a lot, so you feel under pressure to gain feelings for someone. It is so intense in there, and I think Alex was just confused. I don’t think the lie detector test was that correct. I know Alex, he’s my best mate in there and I know he’s got feelings for Liv, but when you’re put in front of a lie detector test, and put under pressure, it’s hard to try and spell that out when you’ve only known them for two-or-three weeks.
Who do you think will win?
Emma: Nathan and Cara.
Terry: I think Nathan and Cara, but I’d like to see Scott and Kady up against them. Just because of the journey they’ve been on. They’ve been tested an awful lot, and what hasn’t killed them has made them stronger.
When the lights go out and everyone gets frisky, who are the loudest couple?
Terry: Oh got to be Liv and Alex.
Emma: Yep!
Terry: They’re the most forward couple. They just f*** like rabbits to be honest with you.
Worried about withdrawal symptoms after the final? Don’t miss Love Island: Heading Home on Sunday 17th July, 9pm on ITV2.
