Chrissy Teigen isn’t the only one with extreme FOMO about the 2018 Met Gala, which took place last night (May 7). The theme, which was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,” was just so ripe for major moments (and crowns, apparently). Don’t we all want to be in a room where Rihanna shows up in a pope hat and Jared Leto does a cosplay Jesus? Even Bella Hadid put on a massive 10-pound veil for that opportunity.
Lucky for us, the celebrities who were blessed with an invite to the event were kind enough to share an inside look on social media. After all, if you don’t document with a selfie, did it even happen? Take a look, below, at some of our favorite videos and photos. It’ll almost—almost—make you feel like you were there too.
Rihanna
We have to start with the queen of the Met Gala, obviously.
Ariana Grande
Grande swanning around the Metropolitan Museum of Art in her Michelangelo-inspired gown is a total mood.
The Kardashians
Vogue shared a video on Instagram of the Kardashian sisters—Kim, Kylie, and Kendall, specifically—that feels very Dynasty. Kris would be proud. Meanwhile, Kim’s Instagram stories are a treasure trove of celebrity cameos, including SZA, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Cardi B.
Katy Perry
We can always count on Perry to be the most extra—in the best way possible, of course.
SZA
My favorite tweet from last night said, “I can’t believe SZA invented the Met Gala!” I see no lies in that sentence.
Frances McDormand
If there’s only one thing you watch today, make it this delightful video from Vogue.
Zendaya
Hat tip to Zendaya, who dressed for the theme as Joan of Arc—and kept in character throughout the carpet.
