If you’re freaking out over Selena Gomez and The Weeknd’s official couple debut at the Met Gala 2017, we understand. The photos of the couple from the event are adorable, their smiles are contagious, and their enthusiasm for each other is palpable. Of course, we knew these two were crazy for each other from the dozens of pictures paparazzi have snapped of them since January, but it’s still exciting to see their first public appearance together.
And things just got even more exciting: According to E! Online, Gomez whispered, “I love you” to The Weeknd on the Met Gala red carpet. No word yet on if she finished that phrase with “…like a love song,” but here’s hoping.
Granted, there’s no video or audio proof that Gomez said these words; we just have to trust the source from E! is telling the truth. But even if this didn’t happen, Gomez and The Weeknd’s body language at the Met Gala proves they’re seeing heart-eye emojis for each other.

Gomez and The Weeknd were first spotted getting cozy in Santa Monica back in January, and they’ve become media magnets since then—with paparazzi following them everywhere from Los Angeles to New York City and even Italy.
