Kendall Jenner is facing some backlash on social media in recent days after the model was accused of not tipping at a New York City bar. The drama started on Friday (August 4) when Brooklyn establishment Baby’s All Right posted a photograph of a receipt that seemed to show Kendall’s signature on a $24 bill…but nothing was written into the allotted space for the tip. “Don’t forget to tip your bartender,” the caption read with a smiley face emoji next to it. Although the photo has recently been deleted from the bar’s Instagram page, screenshots have begun to make their rounds on social media, with several people calling out the celeb for being “cheap.”
However, some people are defending Kendall, pointing out that it’s possible that the model tipped in cash — something that we don’t necessarily know just by looking at the photo.
While it would certainly be disappointing if a celebrity as big as Kendall didn’t tip, it’s important to note that the photograph shared by the bar definitely doesn’t tell us the entire story. As some of her defenders are pointing out, if she left a cash tip, she wouldn’t have necessarily filled out the “tip” portion of her receipt, and considering her bill was only $24, it’s possible that she just left some bills instead of charging the extra to her card. The bottom line is that it’s never a good idea to jump to conclusions. So until Kendall or the bar itself speaks out, we won’t know for sure, so all logical outcomes are still on the table.
