Busy Philipps and Michelle Williams go to awards shows together, proclaim their love for each other in interviews, and dye each other’s hair pink, but they also stick together during the less happy times. On Monday, Philipps shared on Instagram that she had hopped on a flight just to be by her best friend’s side on the 10th anniversary of Heath Ledger‘s death.

After talking in her Instagram Story about packing up and heading to the airport, Philipps posted several photos of her view of the sunset from an airplane window. A little later, she shared a selfie of her and Williams sitting close together. “It’s ok,” Philipps wrote on the photo. She posted another video of her and Williams sitting quietly together on her Instagram Story. “They’re playing the cranberries linger here,” she captioned the clip, in which Williams watches as Philipps slowly starts to smile and nod along to the song.

Earlier Monday, Philipps posted a series of tearful videos on her Instagram Story in honor of Ledger. “I was just driving and I was thinking about my friend Heath, who died 10 years ago, and this song came on, ‘Time to Pretend,'” she explains through her tears, while MGMT’s 2007 song plays on her car radio. “It came out after he passed away, and I remember when it came out, because I thought—it made me think of him. I just thought he would have liked this song. And for some reason, every time I hear this song—it’s weird.”

Ledger, who met Williams on the set of 2005’s Brokeback Mountain and is the father of her 12-year-old daughter Matilda, was found dead from an accidental overdose in his New York City apartment on January 22, 2008, at the age of 28. In honor of the 10th anniversary of his death on Monday, several other stars shared tributes to the actor, including Naomi Watts, who dated Ledger in 2002 and 2003; his Brokeback Mountain co-star Jake Gyllenhaal; and Lily Cole, who costarred with Ledger in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.
