Spider-Man: Homecoming Teaser Swings In, Trailer Arrives Tomorrow

[ad_1]

Over the weekend, we got details on the first footage from Spider-Man: Homecoming. Now, Marvel and Sony have debuted that footage online, and it doesn’t disappoint. It also comes with the exciting news that the full trailer will drop tomorrow, December 8, before you can see it on the big screen with the theatrical premiere of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

This first look preview from Homecoming kicks off in an entirely new fashion for Marvel. It looks and feels like a found footage movie shot from Peter Parker’s perspective. We get a peek at Tom Holland’s make-shift Spidey costume before Jon Favreau’s Happy Hogan interrupts the scene. The two are standing in a hotel room. Happy seems less than his name implies upon spying Parker’s homemade red tights, ‘Didn’t you see the case?’

On the coffee table sits a case from none other than Tony Stark. And it has a note. ‘A Minor Upgrade.’ But that’s putting it lightly. We soon cut to Spider-man in Washington DC, where he sits atop the Washington Monument. We watch as he springs off, spreading his new webbed wings. Parker, back in his hotel room, exclaims.

“Oh, this is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen!”

And we’re guessing that’s how Marvel and Sony want you to feel after you see the full trailer tomorrow. The grand debut of the trailer is happening on Jimmy Kimmel Live Thursday night, which hits your TV starting 11:35 pm EST/PST. There’s no mention of who is helping Jimmy show off this exciting, sure-to-be action packed footage. But we promise it will be the small screen event to beat this Holiday season.

Spider-Man: Homecoming stars Tom Holland as your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man along with Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Michael Keaton as The Vulture, Zendaya as Michelle, Logan Marshall-Green as a secondary villain, and Kenneth Choi as Peter’s high school Principal. The film also features Donald Glover, Martin Starr, Michael Barbieri, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Angourie Rice, Jacob Batalon, Tyne Daly, and Bokeem Woodbine. The film was written by John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein, composer Michael Giacchino will score the film.

Tom Holland, who made his MCU debut in this summer’s Marvel blockbuster Captain America: Civil War, has signed on for six Marvel movies in total. Three of them will be a trilogy that starts with Spider-Man: Homecoming, with the actor also appearing in three other Marvel movies as Spider-Man.

Spider-Man: Homecoming arrives as one of three Marvel Phase 3 movies coming in 2017. First, we get Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 this May, which kicks off the summer movie going season. Its trailer debuted over the weekend. Then comes Spidey’s anticipated standalone movie in July, followed by the epic year-ending Thor: Ragnarok in November. This will be one of Marvel Studios’ biggest years yet, and just from this small 17 second teaser courtesy of Sony Pictures, we can tell it’s going to be very exciting.
