Days after coupling up with Katie Salmon and becoming Love Island’s first lesbian couple, Sophie Gradon has called time on their brief romance.
On tonight’s episode, viewers will watch Sophie start to doubt her re-coupling with Katie, and threaten to quit the show to be with Tom Powell, who left the villa last week.
After hearing some home-truths from the public in a task, Sophie admits she’s struggling. She says: “I’m trying to get on with it but I’m really struggling with it. I’m having high moments and low moments. If I’m recoupled, that makes me think, ‘What’s Tom gonna think?”
Speaking with her fellow islanders, Sophie hints that she wants to quit to be with Welsh hunk Tom.
“Right, that’s it for me. I’m done. Yeah, I’m going to ask [if I can leave]. I cannot do this, it’s just too much of a mind-f***. It’s not worth it. It’s not worth losing Tom over. I can’t lose Tom, I can’t.”
Sophie later admits she’s been missing Tom, but hasn’t let on to the others. In the beach hut, she says: “I need to be real and I miss Tom. Every day I’ve missed him. It’s not fair on Katie; I have immense feelings for someone else that aren’t just going to go in the next week.
“She’s genuinely attracted, she’s made that perfectly clear and I’m just not ready for that.
“It’s not fair to couple up with someone who’s potentially interested in taking things further. I don’t want to do something that I regret and ruin my relationship with Tom. I want him.”
And, Sophie is right to be worried as furious Tom has been venting his anger on Twitter over the past two days.
After watching girlfriend Sophie quickly move on with Katie, he tweeted: “She best not be wearing my f***ing t-shirt tomorrow.”
The day before he wrote: “Sophie’s stood there wearing my Tshirt then going on a date with someone else,” before telling the world he was “done.”
Sadly, just last week Tom told new! he had “100 per cent trust” that Sophie wouldn’t move on with anyone else in the villa.
Spilling his heart out, he admitted: “I’ve never felt like this about anyone in my entire life.”
Tonight, viewers will watch as Sophie tells Katie the truth. “I can’t go through with it Katie, Tom just means too much. I want to go with him. I want to leave and go see him,” she explains.
Will Sophie leave? Will she stay? What will Tom say? We can’t wait!
