8 Times Taylor Swift Was Completely Savage to Herself in the 'Look What You Made Me Do' Video

Taylor Swift debuted her video for “Look What You Made Me Do” at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night, and it was absolutely bonkers. The clip is, by far, her darkest yet and includes jabs at several of the celebrities who feuded with her last year—most notably, Kanye West. (That scene with all the models lying on top of each other was clearly a nod to his “Famous” video.)

But the person Swift threw the most shade at in the “LWYMMD” video was…herself. Yup. Let’s not mince words: This video is four minutes of Taylor Swift being a savage to Taylor Swift.

That is, after all, the point of Swift’s new era. She’s hitting back at the tabloid stories that plagued her last year. She’s reclaiming the insults people hurled her way, which is pretty friggin’ badass. This video proves Swift knows what everyone’s saying about her, and she’s taking it with a grain of salt—and a wicked sense of humor.

These eight Swift-on-Swift moments from the clip are particularly savage:

When she nodded to her obsession with cats.

Swift talks about her cats, Olivia and Meredith, quite a bit, and the Internet gives her a pretty hard time about it. (Ya know, the whole “crazy cat lady” persona.) This moment from the video proves she hears the haters, and she’s laughing back.

The fact that all her dancers wore “I Heart T.S.” shirts.

Remember when photos surfaced of Tom Hiddleston, who briefly dated Swift, wearing one of these shirts? Looks like Tay’s been in on the joke this whole time.

The video’s final scene, which included Swift’s former personas arguing with each other.

This was, hands down, the highlight of the video, because it proved just how much Swift knows about her image. “Stop making that surprised face all the time; it’s so annoying,” one of the Swifts says to another Swift. It was painfully self-referential…in the best way possible.

Snakes, snakes, and more snakes.

Hmmm, something tells me Swift’s well aware of that whole snake emoji drama.

The subtle references to Swift’s “squad” of famous friends.

Swift garnered a lot of flak last year for her apparent “collection” of female friends. She claimed her gaggle of gals was empowering and feminist, but most people viewed it as shallow. It’s unclear if Swift agrees with this notion or not, but she definitely knows it exists.

“Here Lies Taylor Swift’s Reputation.”

Damn, there’s nothing more savage than killing your own persona.

The literal death of her former images.

Like we said, savage.

Annnd this T. Swizzle zombie.
