Veronica (Camila Mendes) and Archie (KJ Apa) finally told Betty (Lili Reinhart) about their relationship during Riverdale‘s season one finale, so they’re now free to sip milkshakes (and make out) at Pop’s Chock’lit Shoppe whenever they want. This also means they can, ya know, get married, which might actually happen next season—if these new behind-the-scenes photos are any indication.
Yes, pictures of Veronica in a wedding dress are currently circulating the Internet, and Riverdale fans (myself included) are losing their minds. Does this mean she and Archie are tying the knot in season two? Or is this a wedding dream sequence that Veronica has (probably prompted by the return of her father, Hiram Lodge)? If I’m being honest, it’s probably (no, definitely) the latter. Veronica and Archie just became official, after all, and they’re only in high school. This isn’t One Tree Hill, people: These kids (with their fancy comic book names and orange hair) know way better.
Either way, the photos prove someone on Riverdale has marriage on the brain. Maybe Hiram and Hermione Lodge are planning some kind of recommitment ceremony, and Veronica is pissed about it. (The finale hinted that tensions between Veronica and her father will be high next season.) Or maybe Cheryl Blossom wants to get married and has a nightmare about her frenemy, Veronica, tying the knot. (Horrifying, I know.) The possibilities are endless—and yes, one of those could be an actual wedding, but that’s unlikely.
Check out Veronica’s (very pretty) wedding dress in the photos, below:

And here’s a photo of Apa and Cole Sprouse (Jughead) wearing kilts (???) in the same wedding scene/dream sequence. The plot thickens.
