X-Men Actor Wants a Deadpool & Quicksilver Crossover Movie

The X-Men movies are in a pretty strange place right now. X-Men:Apocalypse further screwed up the already messy timeline and received mixed reviews as well as less box office than expected. On the brightside, Evan Peters returned as Quicksilver and once again stole the show. When will we see him next? Well, maybe in a Deadpool movie.

In a recent interview with The Wrap, Peters discussed the possibilities for the future of Quicksilver in the X-Men franchise. No doubt he will return, but as for how and where is very much up in the air. The idea of a solo movie came up first, but Peters had a very valid point when citing why that may not be such a great idea.

“Oh my god, I don’t know. It would take three years to shoot, wouldn’t it? Yeah I don’t know, I would love to do that.”

Shortly after the release of X-Men: Apocalypse, Fox released a featurette about the massive Quicksilver action scene from the film. Though the sequence was rather short in the film, only a handful of minutes, the scene took around a month to shoot and required a massive amount of resources. The final product was worth it, but Peters is very much right in pointing out that it would be very challenging to do a whole film given the time needed to do it right.

He still mentions that he would love to do it in spite of the complications and unlike some of the actors in Apocalypse, Evan Peters seems to be totally committed and into the role. He did have another suggestion that is likely to get fans excited though, saying that he would love to see Quicksilver join up with Ryan Reynolds in a Deadpool movie down the line. The two characters would almost certainly have excellent chemistry onscreen and it would be a great way to give Quicksilver some more screen time than he was afforded in Days of Future Past and Apocalypse. Here is what Peters had to say.

“I would like to see a Deadpool/Quicksilver movie, I think that would be really fun.”

Though it isn’t exactly an Earth shattering statement, it is a very interesting idea and one that isn’t outlandish or out of the realm of possibility. In spite of the main X-Men franchise being a bit uncertain, Deadpool was a runaway hit for Fox, having grossed $774 million and is doing very well on VOD and Blu Ray. The studio has already greenlit a sequel which will feature Cable, but there is no reason Quicksilver couldn’t join up with them for Deadpool 2 or somewhere down the line, maybe in an X-Force movie. X-Men: Apocalypse is in theaters now and Deadpool is currently available on VOD and Blu Ray.
