Amazon Prime comes with a handful of perks, and the latest among them is a student loan discount. Amazon recently teamed up with Wells Fargo to offer Prime Student customers an interest rate discount on their private student loans.
Wells Fargo will give an interest rate discount of 0.5% to borrowers who are also Amazon Prime Student members. We’ve told you before that many loan servicers offer a 0.25% discount if you enroll in direct pay, and Wells Fargo says borrowers can combine the two discounts:
The 0.50 percent interest rate discount being offered by Wells Fargo to Amazon Prime Student customers can also be added to a 0.25 percent interest rate reduction for enrolling in an automatic monthly loan repayment plan from Wells Fargo and any interest rate discount tied to a Wells Fargo global promotion
Amazon Prime Student goes for $49 a year, and of course, this is a mutually beneficial marketing ploy for both companies. Still, it’s good news for Wells Fargo borrowers who happened to be enrolled in Prime Student. For more detail, see the full release at the link below.
