Prince Louis‘ christening last week was everything royal family fans wanted and more. Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton wore fabulous hats, Prince George and Princess Charlotte were the epitome of adorable, and Prince Harry looked like a walking redheaded snack with that bright-blue tie. The official portraits that came out from the christening were stunning as well. Everyone looked dapper and British standing next to a sleeping Prince Louis. You can see those photos here and relive the cuteness (and Markle’s forest green lewk) all over again.
When you’re done with that, though, then this new photo of Prince Louis smiling at his christening deserves your attention. The pics Kensington Palace has shared of Prince Louis so far have featured him either sleeping or swaddled in Middleton’s arms, but this just-released one is another story. Middleton and Prince Louis both have huge grins in the photo, which was shot by Matt Porteous, according to a tweet by Kensington Palace. If this very sunny snap doesn’t brighten your mood, then nothing else will.
Check it out for yourself, below:
“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have released an additional photograph taken following the christening of Prince Louis,” Kensington Palace wrote in a tweet. “The Duke and Duchess hope that everyone enjoys this lovely photograph of Prince Louis as much as they do.”
Prince Louis’ christening truly was a family affair. So many royals attended, including Princes Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. (The queen, unfortunately, couldn’t attend due to prior commitments.)
“I was truly honored at being asked to take the official photographs at the christening of Prince Louis, and to witness at first hand such a happy event,” Matt Holyoak, the photographer who took Prince Louis’ christening portraits, said in a statement to People. “Everyone was so relaxed and in such good spirits, it was an absolute pleasure. I only hope I have captured some of that joy in my photographs.”
