Teacher Arrested After Father Of Student Catches Her Having Sex With Son In Car

We all like to think that if we were to commit a crime, we’d be smart enough to get away with it scot-free. In fact I’m practically convinced that at least 10% of the people who watched Breaking Bad on a regular basis only did it so that, if push ever came to shove, one day they’d be able to cook and sell meth without so much of a blip on police radar. Hell, I watched that episode where they dissolved a body in a plastic tub at least six times just in case I’d ever need that information down the road.

Better safe than sorry, right?

And yet 44-year-old Rachel Gonzalez, a fourth-grade teacher at Cherry Elementary in the Texas Bay City area, decided to play it dumb and sorry rather than safe and smart. Not only did Rachel learn zilch from all the other teacher student sex scandals that get tossed around in the news, but she was basically asking to get caught while having sex with a 13-year-old student. Spoiler alert: she got caught…by the kid’s dad.

According to NY Daily News, Gonzalez and the unnamed student were allegedly caught having sex in a parked car on a residential street by the student’s father on December 14^th. Let me repeat that: a residential street. Even 16-year-old high school me was smarter than this “teacher” (gotta use this term loosely here, because if adolescent me is smarter than a 44-year-old woman with a college degree, I can’t imagine she’s capable of teaching much besides spit vs. swallow), because back in my prime years I was boning it out in empty parking lots and rarely traveled side roads. Seriously – is this how low we’re setting the bar for a teaching degree these days?

After a securing a search warrant for the student’s phone, police found “evidence of an improper relationship with Gonzalez and immediately sought to arrest her.” She was taken into custody this past Friday to the Matagorda County jail, but managed to post bond and was released. Moving forward, Gonzalez now faces charges including online solicitation of a minor and improper relationship between educator and student.
