Rihanna Jut Shut Down Body-Shamers on Instagram

Rihanna is living her best life right now. She’s spent the last two weeks rocking incredible outfits on red carpets for her film Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. Last week she kicked it with France’s First Lady, and last month she casually made out with a Saudi billionaire. To call her summer o-p-u-l-e-n-t would be a gross understatement.

But it hasn’t all been fun. The singer has been plagued by trolly body-shamers ever since this photo of her wearing a billowing shirt hit the Internet in May. Rihanna hasn’t commented on the controversy—save for this cryptic Instagram post—which probably means she DGAF about what anyone’s saying about her body. And why should she? She’s rich and fabulous and has 14 number-one singles, dammit! She can’t even hear this hate because her cash register is too loud. In fact, it’s quite possible she doesn’t even know this uproar is happening.

Actually, it’s very possible—if this new Instagram comment is any indication. @robynsbish, a Rihanna fan account on Instagram, recently posted an incredible video from two years ago of Rihanna buying snacks at a Duane Reade. “You walked into the store, and in two minutes, you got four snacks?” Rihanna’s friend says to her in the clip, to which her other friend replies, “You’re judging her. Stop judging her!”

And that’s exactly what @robynsbish tells people to stop doing in her caption: “Everybody who calling rob [Rihanna] too fat @mdollas11 telling you what to do in this video K !! #mindyourown #eatallyouwant @badgalriri i got you like melissa 🙋🏻👑 .”

This caption serves as a friendly (and hilarious) reminder that no one’s body is up for discussion—and Rihanna saw it. Yup, @badgalriri herself commented on the throwback video with a message that shut down her haters for good.

“Somebody called me too fat?” Rihanna wrote, alongside three laughing-face emojis. See it for yourself, below.

That’s right, folks. If we take Rihanna’s comment literally, it means she hasn’t even clocked her body-shamers. And if we take it metaphorically, it means she’s laughing her butt off about the whole thing. Either way, she wins.
