Richard Simmons released a statement regarding all the buzz that he’s transitioning into a woman.
“Some tabloids have recently falsely reported that I am transitioning,” Simmons wrote in a short statement on his Facebook page on Tuesday. “In response, I feel compelled to set the record straight and refute these lies. Although I am not transitioning, I have and always will be supportive of those who are going through their journey.”

Richard Simmons added that the focus should be on the tragedy that took place in Orlando at a gay nightclub on Saturday night. A gunman went into the club firing a semi-automatic firearm, killing 49 people and injuring several others.
“We should not lose focus on showing love, strength and compassion to all of the LGBT community during these tragic times,” Simmons continued. “My broken heart and healing thoughts are with the people of Orlando and all other victims of prejudice, bigotry and hate.”
As reported earlier, Simmons was hospitalized for “bizarre conduct” at Los Angeles’ Cedars Sinai Medical Center a few weeks ago. The fitness star blamed dehydration and recommended everyone stay hydrated during the summer months.
Richard Simmons has largely been out of the public eye for three years.
