Taylor Brooks Boyles, a 27-year-old middle school teacher in Alabama, is accused of sleeping with a student just one month after filing for divorce.
Taylor Brooks Boyles
Boyles alleged boy toy is an 18-year-old senior at the local high school. The crime she is being charged with is “engaging in a sex act with a student younger than 19.” That is a felony in the state of Alabama and if found guilty, she could spend up to 10 years in prison.
Area Superintendent Jon Bret Smith says he heard of the allegations on May 18th and that Boyles is on “paid leave” for the duration of the investigation. Though the age of consent in Alabama is 19 years old and the boy is 18, I can see why Boyles is getting into legal trouble with this. She’s a teacher. Though she isn’t teaching at the same school as her supposed lover, he IS a student. Sometimes rules and regulations can be a bit much, but in this situation, all of this seems very justified.
Boyles and her ex-husband married in May of 2015 and split because it was “a mistake” and “the love has gone out” of their relationship according to her complaint in the divorce filing. Regardless, she is being accused of sleeping with a student just one month after getting divorced. Not to be judgmental, but yikes. Her ex-husband really dodged a bullet there. Boyles was released from jail after posting a ten thousand dollar bail, which is about one trillion dollars when you factor that she paid that on a teacher’s salary.
