Television has steadily grown in popularity and prestige in recent years. With the onset of Peak TV, dare I say, TV may have gained equal footing with movies as a source of go-to entertainment. With these changes has come an influx of absolutely gorgeous women who are hot enough to star in just about anything. We’ve got Sofia Vargara, Emilia Clarke, Hannah Simone, Kaley Cuoco, Cobie Smulders and a whole bunch of other ridiculously beautiful leading ladies. These talented actresses deserve all of the attention they get, but I can’t feel as if there’s not enough room for everyone in the spotlight.
That’s why I want to take this opportunity to throw some well-deserved love elsewhere. Without further ado, I present to you TV’s under-the-radar hotties..
Rhea Seehorn – Better Call Saul
I love me some Kim Wexler.
Fans of Breaking Bad prequel Better Call Saul will recognize Rhea Seehorn as Jimmy McGill’s love interest and as one of the most intricate and well-developed characters on the show. Seriously, BCS deserves a ton of credit for making Kim a multilayered character who exists fully outside of Jimmy’s sphere of influence. Of course, that’s an easy feat to pull off when you have as talented and hot of an actress as Seehorn.
Kim is driven, intelligent, clever, funny and compassionate. Basically, she’s the perfect woman. Having actually interviewed Seehorn in real life, I can tell you from first-hand experience that she is very much like her character.
She may not be a household name, but Rhea Seehorn is top notch.
Carrie Coon – The Leftovers, Fargo
If Carrie Coon doesn’t win ALL the Emmys this year for her turn in The Leftovers, I seriously think I’m going to burn something down. She is so good in that show that early in the first season, showrunner Damon Lindelof essentially turned her into co-main character. The series finale revolved entirely around her, after all.
Beyond Coon’s obvious talent is the fact that she’s a stone cold fox. No, she’s not a traditional big-breasted blonde that Hollywood loves to push on us. But that’s what is so endearing about her look – it’s real. I don’t see a hint of Kardashian-esque plastic surgery anywhere. She’s a 36-year-old who is unafraid of her age and I dig that about her.
Those expressive eyes, full lips and that bouncy brown hair. Oh, ‘tis the East, and Carrie is the sun.
Julie Bowen – Modern Family
Okay, since Modern Family is one of the most-watched shows on all of television, Bowen may not technically be “under the radar.” But since Vergara scoops up all of the attention as the show’s “hot one,” I’m including Bowen anyway.
First off, she gets major props for being Happy Gilmore’s girl. +100 right off the bat. Second of all, she’s a sexy little blonde with fantastic legs. I don’t know what it is about Bowen’s manic energy on Modern Family, but it does it for me. Am I alone in this or do other guys get what I’m saying?
I understand the two very big reasons why Vergara is the main attraction, but I’ll take some Bowen any day.
