Earlier today, we showed you a new promo for Suicide Squad that introduced Task Force X in the same way a soccer team is announced, along with merchandising photos. Now we have even more from this comic book adaptation with the arrival of some unique posters that bring this squad together. These one-sheets are unlike any we’ve seen from this movie before, and best of all, they’re available to purchase right now.
GB Posters debuted these one-sheets, some of which feature individual characters like The Joker (Jared Leto), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) and Deadshot (Will Smith), while others feature the entire team. One of these posters even features The Joker in the center, surrounded by the rest of this Squad including Enchantress (Cara Delevingne), Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), El Diablo (Jay Hernandez), Katana (Karen Fukuhara), Rick Flagg (Joel Kinnaman), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney) and Slipknot (Adam Beach). We’ll have to wait and see how many more posters and new trailers will be released as we get closer and closer to the August 5 debut.
It feels good to be bad… Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?
The supporting cast also includes Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Ike Barinholtz, Scott Eastwood, Common, Jim Parrack, David Harbour and Alex Meraz, although the rest of their characters have not yet been confirmed. David Ayer directs from his own screenplay, adapted from the DC Comics, with the director believed to be coming back for the sequel Suicide Squad 2. It has been rumored that the studio wants to begin shooting in early 2017, but plans for this follow-up have yet to be confirmed.
Suicide Squad will be going up against The Weinstein Company’s biopic The Founder and EuropaCorp’s Nine Lives on August 5. If these new posters aren’t enough, we also have new images from the French magazine Cinema Teaser, which gives us another look at The Joker and Task Force X as a whole. Take a look at these images below, and stay tuned for more on Suicide Squad, which could be this summer’s last big blockbuster in just a few months.
