Naturally, Melissa McCarthy Gave the Funniest Advice to Strangers on Twitter

[ad_1]

Hands down, one of the best scenes in Bridesmaids is when Melissa McCarthy‘s character literally tackles Kristen Wiig as the prelude to a highly effective pep-talk to make her stop feeling sorry for herself. It’s one of the many reasons why McCarthy scored an Oscar nomination for the role, and it also proved she’s an expert advice-giver. Whether she’s in or out of character, McCarthy is a wise queen who can dish out the truth in a refreshingly funny way.

If Bridesmaids doesn’t prove that to you, then this video of McCarthy giving advice to strangers on Twitter definitely will. The Life of the Party actress and our May issue cover star stopped by Glamour‘s office, where we asked her to respond to random people’s problems on social media. Her pearls of wisdom were nothing short of hilarious—and potentially actually helpful.

No joke: you could go outside right now and a use the advice McCarthy gives in this video. Trying to post a thirst trap on Instagram? McCarthy says to pull up your pants first. (Fair.) Want to literally be Melissa McCarthy when you grow up? She recommends spending “a lot of alone time in barns.” Looking to get married? Well, McCarthy thinks you should make sure you really know the person first. (Jokes aside, 100% sound advice.)

Watch McCarthy share all this—and more—in the video, above. Her thoughts on how to make money (become a wizard) and man-spreading need to be heard by as many people as humanly possible.

McCarthy’s new movie Life of the Party centers on a mom who goes back to college with her 20-year-old daughter, and it hits theaters May 11. Check it out!
