Married Teacher And Grandmother Arrested For ‘Performing Sex Acts On Student’

Welcome to Alabama, where the schools rank 49th out of 50 in the country but it’s cool because at least their sex ed program is top notch – just kidding! A giant chunk of schools are still teaching abstinence-only classes, which is definitely helping their teen birth rate of 34.3% (for contrast, the national average is 26.5%) and the fact that Alabama has the highest rate of teacher-student sex scandals out of the entire country. When educators like Carrie Witt have tried (and failed) to have their cases thrown out by arguing that the state’s student sex law unconstitutional, you’d think that most teachers would look at that and say to themselves “Hmmmm, not that it was a good idea before, but now it’s an even WORSE idea to bang Timmy the 12-year-old. Better keep it in my pants!”

Wrong.

Well, “wrong” at least for 51-year-old Sonya Ann Wilks Bailey, who was arrested and charged with one count of a school employee engaging in a sex act with a student, one count of second-degree sodomy and one count of second-degree rape, according to Fox News.

Not only is Bailey an Alabama teacher, but she’s both a mother and grandmother r of two. That’s right – this lady is RIPE. Most people read these stories and bitch about how the kids have it “too good” these days with all the hot young teachers running around; this is not one of those cases. Say what you will about hot teachers like Erin McAuliffe, who was arrested for banging three students

…but any kid that gets sucked into sticking his dick into a walking barrel of diabetes deserves pity, not applause.

Yikes.

Prior to her arrest Bailey taught at West End High School in Walnut Grove, Alabama. While there I’m sure she did great things as their information technology teacher (hiring a grandmother to teach computer classes? Brilliant move, Alabama), like showing kids “Where the Google is” and “How to download AOL 1999,” sending nudes and engaging in “sexual acts” with kids probably won’t make the list.

In a statement made to AL.com, Etowah County Superintendent Dr. Alan Cosby assured parents that  “Mrs. Bailey resignation was accepted by the Etowah County Board of Education on August 28th. Her resignation was accepted after these allegations came to light. We are fully cooperating with the Sheriff’s Office and District Attorney’s Office in this case.”

Bailey was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center on $60,000 bond. No information has been released yet on an upcoming court date.
