Guess Which Celebrity Posted A Photo Of Her Bush On Twitter

[ad_1]

I am all for body positivity, loving yourself and telling the haters to go suck a fatty. But at the same time, there’s a line to be drawn between supporting all those concepts and self-promotion. Kind of like the time Digiorno hijacked the #WhyIStayed hashtag on Twitter, meant to be for people to share their stories of domestic abuse:

It’s good to bring light to an issue, just not when you’re doing it to promote yourself.

Enter: Amber Rose.

For those of you who don’t know who Amber Rose is, she’s a model who dated Kanye West for a minute and…well, that’s mostly about it. She describes herself as a feminist and is the organizer behind the Amber Rose Slut Walk (who would’ve guessed?), which Women’s Health Magazine describes as “a multi-day festival that aims to take a stand for gender equality and against slut-shaming.” All things good and great, but her latest photo on Twitter blurs the line between “feminist/body activist” and “self-aggrandizing attention grabber”:

Yes, we had to blur out the bush. No, we’re not allowed to have full nudity on Break. But don’t worry – you can see the uncensored photo by clicking HERE.

Personally, I think it’s great that Amber loves herself and is so confident in her body that she has no qualms about throwing up a photo of her bush onto the Internet for everyone to see. That being said, was this REALLY necessary? The photo appears to have been posted as a promotion for her upcoming Slut Walk per the hashtag at the top, but if you ask me this is more of a promotion for Amber than it is for any of the positivity movements she’s supposedly supporting. A poster for her Slut Walk would’ve been more promotional than her bush, since everyone is talking about her bush and not the walk. To be fair, a poster wouldn’t have gotten nearly as much coverage, but at the same time Amber’s moderate celebrity status (read: frequently naked D-lister) is overshadowing the whole point of the tweet.

Case in point: most of the tweets about Amber have to do with her vag, not her Slut Walk:

At the end of the day, you see what you want to see depending on who you are: some people see a strong woman clapping back at society’s standard of beauty, others see a half-naked woman who may or may not need to invest in a pair of hedge clippers; to each their own.

What do you think — is Amber promoting herself, or pomoting body positivity? Let us know in the comments!
