Not everything George Michael did made headlines.

The superstar singer — who died on Sunday at 53 — never boasted about his charitable side, but now countless fans and charities are coming forward to share stories of Michael’s generosity.

“A woman on ‘Deal Or No Deal’ told us she needed £15k for IVF treatment. George Michael secretly phoned the next day and gave her the £15k,” game show host Richard Osmond tweeted on Monday.

After Osman’s tweet, dozens of people came forward to publicize the charitable efforts carried out by Micheal.

The Grammy-winning pop star donated all of the royalties from Wham!’s “Last Christmas” to Ethiopian famine relief. The founder of the organization told the AP that Michael had donated millions of dollars over the years, and was “determined” that no one outside the charity know how much he had given.

Michael donated the royalties from “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me,” his 1991 duet with Elton John, to HIV-awareness organization Terrence Higgins Trust.

In addition to his incredibly generous donations to structured charities, Michael also made small gestures to everyday people.
