Eagles’ wide receiver Nelson Agholor has been accused of raping an exotic dancer at a gentlemen’s club.
The woman told police that she was raped inside the strip club around 3 p.m. The club is located a few miles away from the Eagles’ NovaCare training complex.
“There was an allegation made against one of the [Eagles] players of a sexual assault that was reported by one of the female dancers,” Philadelphia Police commissioner Richard Ross said. “Our Special Victims Unit is actively running on the investigation.”
Agholor was with at least two other players at the Cheerleaders Gentlemen’s Club.
The NFL player hasn’t been charged with a crime.
“Nelson has not engaged in any criminal conduct,” said Agholor’s lawyer Forunato “Fred” Perri Jr. in an email. “We’re confident that he will not be charged with a crime.”
The Eagles released a brief statement on the situation today:
“We are aware of the police investigation involving Nelson Agholor. The organization has been in contact with Nelson and the proper authorities in Philadelphia. Because of the legal nature of this matter, we will have no further comment.”
The team drafted Agholor last year from USC with the 20th overall pick.
The player will be interviewed by police sometime soon. The police are currently trying to find surveillance footage from the club.
