I’m calling it right now: 2017 is the year we figure out why our teachers keep having sex with their students. On one end, I get it — you have a few students who look up to you, think you’re pretty, and you get carried away with all this new-found attention that otherwise wouldn’t be coming your way.
…but other than that? Come on ladies, you can’t HONESTLY tell me that sneaking around the bleachers at night with some kid who hasn’t even completed sex ed yet is preferable to having a stable marriage. I go back to my high school occasionally when I’m in my hometown, and I can say without a doubt that just the idea of even being in the same room naked with any of these dudes makes me want to gag. There is either something insanely sexy about kids under the age of 18 that I’m missing, or a big chunk teachers we’re churning out these days are completely defunct. My best guess is that the teachers who get caught in student sex scandals were losers when they were in high school, and that this is their way of trying to redo their experiences and be “cool.”
Which brings us to 29-year-old Sarah Domres, a married former Wisconsin high school teacher who was sentenced to prison on Wednesday after she got caught sleeping with one of her students back in 2015. According to Daily Mail, Domres’ inappropriate relationship with one of her students began around May 2015, however police did not begin investigating until one of the unnamed student’s friends reported their relationship to police in January. When probed by authorities, Domres claimed that she was innocent of the allegations, and that she and the student only “hugged” when they met up outside of school.
In this case, “hugged” must be a euphemism for “We had sex between 10 and 15 times, mostly in a backwater Wisconsin park-and-ride parking lot, but also at a Motel 6 the night of Domres’ husband’s bachelor party.” Kids these days come up with real specific and expressive slang, so I would not be surprised if that’s actually what she meant.
Throughout their investigation, police say they found over 1,000 text messages between Domres and the student, who has so little self respect that he accepted the pet name “baby boo:”
“Baby Boo, I love you now & forever! Please be mine forever & ever. Always, your baby girl. P.S. Good luck on your quiz :)”
“Hopefully you’ve been thinking of me Baby Boo. I should go because he will be home soon. I love you. Be good, think of me and no one else! Ha ha.”
“You’re extremely attractive to me!!! I can’t wait for our night we are doing it no matter what!!!”
Shockingly, those are actual messages sent from a 29-year-old woman. Did you think I wrote those trying to be funny? HA. I’m a pretty fucked up person, but I’m not THAT fucked up. Those aren’t even the worst though — Domres and the student also swapped hardcopy letters in class, with one exchange reading:
“We will have to plan something soon. I want a night again. Xoxo.”
“Yes! Definitely soon. I really want another night with you too baby boo”
“I want to do you 🙂 NOW!!”
You hear that? She wants to do him 🙂 NOW!! Not 🙂 LATER!! Not 🙂 IN FIVE MINUTES!!, but right 🙂 NOW!!
In exchange for pleading guilty, Domres will only have three years of probation after serving two years in prison. She is required to register as a sex offender, and is barred from having any contact with the student or his family. As for her husband, it’s currently unclear whether or not they will be staying together through her sentence — but considering she sent the student nudes while she was away on her honeymoon, I’ve got a feeling this marriage is more dead than Al Sharpton at a Klan rally.
