Middle School Teacher Accused Of Sex With Multiple Underage Students

It seems like just yesterday we were all able to live our lives without the fear of being diddled by a frumpy 40-something teacher who just as easily gets off to Lazy Town re-runs as she does Fifty Shades of Grey. And yet here we are visiting the story of Amanda Ruth Schweitzer, a 38-year-old middle school teacher from Missouri. Not only is Schweitzer facing numerous charges for having sexually inappropriate contact with students, but she’s even got the mother of all sex crimes listed under her indictments:

Using a minor to produce child pornography.

Yeah, us too.

According to Daily Mail, a federal indictment alleges that Schweitzer “used a minor to produce child pornography from March 1 to March 29, 2017.” To add even more salt in that wound, the indictment goes further to allege that “Schweitzer transferred obscene material to the minor during that time.” Whether that “obscene material” was a bunch of nude Myspace mirror selfies or something more nauseating remains to be determined, but considering we’ve all read SO many teacher student sex scandals in the past few years, I think it’s safe to guess that Schweitzer got a little frisky with her flip phone.

Schweitzer was a teacher at North Middle School in Joplin, Missouri during the time of the “incident,” however she has also been the subject of multiple civil and sexual allegations suits since her arrest last year. Those include (but are not limited to):

  • A lawsuit involving three students receiving various “unwated sexual advances” from Schweitzer
  • Allegations that Schweitzer began “grooming” the same three students back in 2017
  • Allegations that Schweitzer sent “suggestive and sexual texts and social media messages.”
  • Allegations that in one incident at the school, Schweitzer “ran her hand through the student’s hair and nibbled on his ear.”

All of the involved students were reportedly under the age of 15 at the time.

Schweitzer’s first indictment was made public after her initial court appearance on Thursday. She currently remains in federal custody pending a detention hearing on January 30th, 2018.
