22-year-old Hunter Day is NOT having a good month.
A first-year teacher at Yukon High School in Oklahoma, Day was arrested this past Wednesday for having an inappropriate relationship with a student after a sting operation carried out by the local sheriff’s office led to an embarrassing case of self-incrimination. The investigation began when the parents of the unnamed student brought their son’s cell phone to police and asked that they review its contents – the parents had already found “text messages and nude photos” on the phone, and were concerned that Day had already had sex with their son.
A forensic review of the phone revealed that Day and the student had indeed already had sex at that point, and that the pair were planning to meet at her house that Wednesday for, you guessed it: sex.
This is where it gets embarrassing for Day…well, more embarrassing:
Armed with the knowledge of the upcoming rendezvous, investigators used the victim’s phone to contact Day while pretending to be her underage lover, according to officials, and asked the 22-year-old married teacher if the meeting was still on.
Day replied ‘yes,’ and urged the student to hurry up and get to her residence before her husband got home from work. (via)

Upon arriving at her home, deputies sent Day a text messages that read, ‘I’m here,’ to which the teacher replied, ‘the doors unlocked as usual.’
Law enforcement officials then opened the door and found the 22-year-old sitting on the living room floor with the lights turned off, candles lit, and wearing a Christmas-themed T-shirt featuring a cat in a Santa Claus hat and workout shorts. (via)

Upon being confronted by authorities, Day confessed that she had sent the student pictures of herself wearing only lingerie and that the student had in turn sent her dick pics. “This is a classic case of a serious breach of public trust,” Canadian County Sheriff Chris West stated. “School teachers are entrusted to protect and educate our children, not to engage in an unlawful sexual relationship with them. I’m no longer surprised by the people who commit these crimes, because predators come from all walks of life.”
Ironically enough, just over one month prior Day had been the subject of a report on local station News9 for her decision to get an emergency certification to teach science at Yukon High School. After checking in with her again in early November, she told reporters that “I definitely see teaching as something I could do forever, which is not something I would have said six months ago.”
