I Guess It's Not Shocking United Airlines Just Killed This Cute Giant Bunny

Things could not be worse for you if you work in the United Airlines public relations department. After video of an elderly United Airlines passenger covered in his own blood being forcefully dragged off of a flight went viral, they decided to one up themselves by killing the one of the world’s largest bunnies.

Rest In Carrots

Simon, a ten-month-old bunny that stretched to a massive three-feet-long was found dead on a United Airlines flight from London to Chicago earlier this week. Annette Edwards, professional bunny breeder and Simon’s owner said “Simon had a vet’s check-up three hours before the flight and was fit as a fiddle.”

A United Spokesperson was quick to respond with “The safety and wellbeing of all the animals that travel with us is of the utmost importance to United Airlines and our PetSafe team. We have been in contact with our customer and have offered assistance. We are reviewing this matter.” This is pretty boilerplate public relations speak, but you have to think that they’re being extra cautious when dealing with passengers after their recent P.R. scandal.

Though this was surely an accident and most likely not a concerted effort by United to murder a large bunny, this couldn’t have come at a worse time for the airline, or for Simon’s owners. Edwards had just sold Simon and was en route to delivering them to their new owner. Simon’s dad was a gargantuan bunny weighing around 50 pounds that held the actual title for World’s largest bunny and it’s not out of the realm of possibility that Simon would eventually, with hard work and by eating a lot of carrots, claim that title.

It’s sad when an athlete’s career is cut short before they reach their prime, and a giant bunny who is known for being big is no exception.
