X-23's Origins Teased in Latest Logan Photo

[ad_1]

For the past few months, the official Instagram from the highly-anticipated Logan has been sending out a slew of mysterious photos from this movie. While some are merely portraits of actors such as Patrick Stewart, others are quite cryptic, such as the image of the bullet-riddled limousine that many believe could be a hint that Patrick Stewart’s Professor X may be killed off. Today we have yet another mysterious image that may provide hint at X-23’s origins.

The Instagram photo doesn’t actually show actress Dafne Keen as Laura Kinney, a.k.a X-23, but it does feature a number of supplies, including one device which may actually be used to inject mutant powers into X-23. You may recall that, during the post-credits sequence of X-Men: Apocalypse, a mystery man was seen taking a vial of Wolverine’s blood, which may be used to create the mutant clone X-23.

The first trailer for Logan debuted last month, which showed Wolverine squaring off against the Reavers in El Paso, Texas. Earlier Instagram photos confirmed that the story takes place in El Paso, and there had been rumors that Logan has taken a job driving a limousine, which we had seen in earlier set photos, riddled with bullet holes. Director James Mangold confirmed this story takes place in the future, “passed the point of the epilogue of Days Of Future Past.”

The movie will be partially based on the iconic Old Man Logan comics, with Logan (Hugh Jackman) losing his mutant healing abilities. The previous photos revealed through social media featured Stephen Merchant’s Caliban, Patrick Stewart’s Professor X and one of the Reavers, played by Stephen Dunlevy. There have also been a slew of cryptic images featuring various locations around El Paso, Texas, and what is believed to be a glimpse at the comic book character Arcade.

The cast also includes Boyd Holbrook as the villainous Donald Pierce, along with Richard E. Grant and Eriq La Salle in unspecified roles. James Mangold directs from a script by David James Kelly and Michael Green. Take a look at the latest in a series of mysterious photos from Logan below, as we get closer and closer to the March 3, 2017 release date.
